Japanese and Korean “Talent”
I find the term “talent” (タレント), as applied to Japanese and Korean celebrities whose claim to fame is simply appearing on TV shows, to be very ironic. They don’t have any talent at all (singing, acting, etc), which is why their work consists of simply being guests on talk shows.
Actually, they may have one talent - Carrying on a conversation. I don’t think they should be called “talent” because of that skill, though. Perhaps they should be called “conversationalists”.
Many of them are lacking in conversational aptitude too, come to think of it…

I was going to say the same thing, however, given that I can’t understand most of these shows, I’m going to be humble and assume that MAYBE, just maybe, at least PART of it is me.
… But definitely not all.
